It does the job quite well. My wife likes that it's lightweight but I prefer it to have a heavier feel to it. Also, it would be better if it comes with wooden grips.
I was stunned, almost shocked, by how amazing and delicious a hot sandwich can be when cooked with this pan. I know what you are thinking, "bruh, it's just a pan for a sandwich; how good it can be than the electric one you can buy in Target?" Wrong. Well, I had the same skepticism in the beginning, but as soon as I had the first bite of this golden-brown, salivating hot sandwich, I was proven wrong. The texture of its shell is much crunchier (as you can literally hear the crunch when you bite down) while the whole softness and juice are well intact inside of the bread. It's phenomenal. Had nothing like this. The last time I made a hot sandwich with a regular household electric hot sandwich cooker, the whole sandwich was soggy and peeling. It was disgusting almost. This pan, whereas, seals the bread tight together and nicely grills it with medium to low heat directly from a gas stove. It has great even conductivity so that the heat penetrates through both slices of bread uniformly. It is amazing how a simple appliance such as a pan can make so much difference in the outcome. Try cooking a sandwich with thick-cut bread instead of a thin slice for a better result. You can also separate a pan into two, making it easy to clean, which I found brilliantly useful. You can also use a separated pan as a single pan as well. I separate the pan to make some eggs and bacon which go along nicely with the sandwich.
This works well as far as browning bread for sandwiches and holds together well when flipping to the other side. Clean up was very easy after the item cooled, and it has a nice non-stick surface. The only negative is the handle--while using, you must be VERY careful not to have any part of it close to the burner or else it will get very hot or possibly begin to melt.
This makes it easy to make a crispy hot sandwich. Good quality, sturdy product. Nonstick and easy to clean too.
